Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime has told fans via video why the company has decided not to host an E3 press conference and instead hold a Nintendo Direct presentation. Reggie says that they have decided to use social media as a way to share information and that he believes this will both surprise and delight Nintendo fans.“We’re always looking for new ways to surprise and delight. We’ll still be at E3 revealing new information about upcoming games and those of you at home will still be receiving the same stream of content and updates from the show as you always have, but it will be different and it will be better.”
