3D Sonic the Hedgehog will release this Wednesday on the Japanese eShop on the Nintendo 3DS. We’re still waiting on the 3D versions of Sega’s classic games here in the rest of the world, so that’s a bummer. Sega’s also released 3DS versions of Super Hang-On and Space Harrier.
The image above shows that there’s even a special picture mode that allows you to switch between modern gaming’s flat screen and the “classic” look of a tube TV with bent sides. Pretty awesome.
Japan will pay 600 yen for the Nintendo 3DS version of Sonic the Hedgehog. That translates to just shy of six bucks by today’s conversion rates. If this game ever makes it internationally, assume that we’ll likely pay the same thing.
