Nintendo 3DS Hits Sales Milestone In Japan

The Nintendo 3DS surpassed 6 million units sold in Japan last week, according to gaming mag Famitsu. According to Nintendo, they will finally start making money off each unit soold starting in September of this year.
 
As of May 20, the 3DS has moved 6,017,206 units, with a worldwide number of 13.35 units by March 31, 2012. The lifetime sales of the handheld since its launch in February of 2011 in Japan total 17.1 million units.
 
In the UK, the 3DS in said to have moved 950,000 units, with 1 million sales expected to hit by next month.
