Aksys Games announced that they will be publishing the browser-based puzzle-platformer for the Nintendo 3DS, complete with a handheld makeover and 3D upgrade. The game on Nintendo's handheld will sport a lot of nifty new features that will separate it from its browser counterpart.
In the transition from casual browser game to handheld puzzle-platformer, Aksys is adding in a number of features to enhance both gameplay depth and replayability, including the addition of a snazzy level editor, as well as a level generator that uses pictures from the 3DS camera of datamatrix codes to create brand new stages. This is all on top of brand new art-direction and enhanced visuals for the 3DS.
The game is scheduled to release in early 2012 for the Nintendo 3DS, so if you were still focused on finishing off a lot of games you had for the holidays then you've got a little bit of time before Shifting World releases.
